Sailing along the idyllic Turquoise Coast affords you plenty of opportunities to enjoy all the stunning scenery and fascinating sites this region has to offer; however, Turkey also has a reputation as a shoppers’ paradise, with a multitude of places to pick up some really great finds. From quirky treasures in local markets to the latest on-trend designs from high-end boutiques, there are lots of bargains to be found.

Visiting Turkey - Shopping trips

Kalkan is an excellent place to enjoy a spot of shopping. Handcrafted leather goods are popular here and gold and silver jewellery can be excellent value, as much of it is sold by weight. Turkey is known for its lovely fabric, so visit a local tailor for bespoke items or simply purchase some material to take home. There are also lots of boutique shops offering all the latest fashions. As many shops stay open until around midnight, you have plenty of time to find the perfect outfit.

Fethiye is one of the busiest ports along the coast and is known for its Tuesday market, which is the perfect place to find some souvenirs for family and friends back home. Turkish carpets, known as kilims, make a colourful addition to your home and there are plenty of ceramic and glass ornaments that make lovely mementoes. Take time to browse, have a few refreshments as you wander, and don’t forget to haggle!

If your yacht rental takes you to one of these great shopping destinations, you are sure to while away a few pleasant hours locating some fabulous finds to take home.
