Turkey is famed for its spa treatments, with a visit to a hamam being an essential part of your trip; however, if you are enjoying sailing holidays in Turkey and want a truly unforgettable experience, heading to the mud baths at Dalyan is certain to fit the bill.

Visiting Turkey - Relaxing spa activities

Located around an hour’s drive from Fethiye and Oludeniz, Dalyan is a popular day trip for visitors to this region of Turkey. The mud baths are reputed to rejuvenate the skin and leave your muscles feeling relaxed. Even if you don’t immediately look younger, you are sure to have great fun! There are also nearby thermal springs for a refreshing dip after your mud bath. Bathing in the water is said to help with rheumatic or arthritic conditions, while drinking it is believed to be good for the liver.

Dalyan is also home to the extremely rare Caretta caretta sea turtle. Iztuzu beach, also known as Turtle Beach, is a sandy shore perfect for relaxing or swimming; in addition, if you are lucky, you may see some of these stunning turtles. They can grow up to one metre in length and adults weigh around 50 kilos.

While you are here, don’t forget to try the delicious blue crab local delicacy before making your way back to your yacht and continuing your adventure.
