Skiing, sunbathing, trekking, camping… holidays come in all shapes and sizes and mean something different to us all. But if you like to mix things up and try something different once in a while then maybe it’s time to consider a new type of vacation – a sailing holiday.
Don’t be put off at the first hurdle (the word sailing often frightens people into thinking they need to be expert sailors in the first place). Or the second hurdle (the cost). When you charter a boat most companies offer you the option of a skipper, too. Essentially this is a highly experienced sailor who will be on board with you, navigate your course and do all the hard work. They generally have very good local knowledge and can make sure they steer you not just in the right direction but to all the best places, finding hidden gems and tucked-away places usually unseen by holidaymakers.

As for the cost, you will be pleasantly surprised to find that a sailing holiday doesn’t usually cost any more than your standard package holiday. It’s a particularly good option if you’re holidaying with a group of friends – not just brilliant fun but you can split the cost across the group.
So next time you?re planning your next adventure… just think, sailing could have all the answers.
