Going on a sailing holiday is a fantastic way of trying something new, seeing different places and experiencing a holiday unlike any other. If you have been stuck in the hotel and beach type of holiday for years then it could be time to shake up your holiday plans.

But a sailing holiday often doesn’t appeal to people as they think they need lots of experience, sailing know-how and lots of specialist equipment. This simply isn’t the case – and if this is standing in the way of you and your holiday then it’s time to cast your doubts aside. The trick is simply to hire an experienced skipper.

Most charter companies offer this as an option when you make your booking. Skippers are highly trained, extremely experienced men and women who are usually from the area local to your destination. They will do all the navigating, all the sailing and all the hard work. They will also act as an invaluable source of information when it comes to finding all the hidden gems along your way, discovering the best places to eat and finding new sights to explore.
Sailing is a brilliant way to enjoy a holiday so don’t let inexperience stand in your way…
