Travel Advice Covid-19 Update

What the world is experiencing right now we could have never imagined, and we understand you may be worried about your upcoming sailing holiday this summer. 

We appreciate that every situation is unique and we are working with everyone in their individual situation and to help give you some security we are offering complete flexibility on your 2020 booking.

Our priorities have and always will be the well-being of our incredible guests and staff, so we are following WHO and local government advice closely and will continue to monitor the situation. If there are any changes to our planned departures, we will update our Travel Advice and get in touch with affected travellers as soon as possible. COVID-19 FAQs for Travellers

My trip is not affected, but I would like to change or cancel my booking. What are my options?

We know how hard it is to plan ahead or anticipate if you will be able to travel this summer, so we have developed this flexible policy that will make sure you don't lose any money paid towards your trip. 

If you are unsure of your travel plans, or you are unable to travel up until 14 days before your departure, you can move your departure to any date in the future, up until 31st of December 2021. You will not lose any trip costs paid, including your deposit.

Once you have confirmed your new booking, 100% of what you have paid will be applied as travel credit towards that trip. 

What if I don't know when I can travel again?

If you are concerned your trip will be affected and you do not have a new travel date in mind, don't worry, we can help. You do not have to choose a new date now, and you can book anytime before the deadline. If we haven’t heard from you for a while, we will send you a reminder closer to this deadline.  If in doubt, please get in touch and we will try to find a solution for you.

Are there fees associated with changing my booking to a later date?

There is no administration charge for changing your booking to a new date, but you would need to cover any difference in price if the tour is more expensive. If the tour is less expensive a travel credit would be added to your booking to be used another time or to be gifted to a friend.

My trip is going ahead but my flight has been cancelled. What do I do? 

We would advise contacting your airline to confirm the options available to you, including alternative flights and/or refunds. Our flexible policy is still available, so as a first alternative you should look to reschedule for another date in the 2020 season. 

If you do not wish to travel this year, we are happy to apply travel credit to a booking in 2021, but we do recommend speaking with your airline to find out what their terms are for rebooking your travel.

I would like to book for the 2020 or 2021 season, does this flexible booking policy apply to me as well? 

Yes, our flexible booking and deposit policy will apply to new bookings for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Please note bookings for the 2021 season will be subject to our normal terms and conditions.

Can I claim any compensation from my travel insurance?

If you are unable to travel and have incurred any costs such as non-refundable accommodation or flights, we recommend you get in touch with your insurers to confirm if they can help cover any costs.

If you are concerned about future travel disruption as a result of a medical epidemic such as COVID-19, we advise purchasing Extended Travel Disruption Insurance. Most travel insurance companies offer this cover for a small additional fee and it gives reassurance that your trip is covered in the event of unforeseen air travel disruption. 

How will my sailing holiday change with the latest announcements on staying safe when travelling?

Since our first trips in 2011 our health and safety standards have always been of extremely high quality and will continue to be so in line with all advice or guidance we receive in due course.

What if I cannot get to my destination?

The EU are changing regulations on a daily basis as the epidemic becomes less prevalent in many European cities. We are following daily updates on this matter for each of the countries we sail and the World Health Organisation. 

As the situation is constantly and rapidly evolving, we would recommend you also continue to monitor the advice and regulations available to decide whether you will be able to visit your sailing destination. Here is the latest information on EU openings and for Tahiti Tourism.
