The stunning town of Ermioni is actually situated on the Greek mainland, but its location at the end of a peninsula gives it a lovely Greek island atmosphere. Ermioni has the perfect blend of fascinating history and breathtaking scenery. Stroll along the streets of the old village to discover the authentic side of Greek culture or make your way to the bustling hub of Mandrakia for some late-night entertainment in one of the many bars. There are numerous Greek orthodox churches where you can admire colourful iconography while soaking up the tranquil atmosphere. As a still very traditional Greek village, Ermioni also marks many of the local saints’ days and celebrations, with Easter being a festival highlight.

Bisti is a delightful village where you can enjoy snorkelling in clear waters or make the most of the sunshine with some rock bathing. Sample the local cuisine in one of the many tavernas, explore the remnants of a temple to Greek god Poseidon, visit a renovated windmill or wander to the ancient warrior’s tomb.

Ermioni is also the ideal base from which to explore some of the historical attractions a little further inland. Just 5km away is the spectacularly rugged Katafyki Gorge, scattered with cool fresh springs, lush vegetation and two ancient churches. The ravine is also home to the cave where legendary hero Hercules met Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guarded the entrance to Hades.
