Where should you moor to enjoy the very best views as the sun sinks below the horizon?

Visiting Greece - Sailing by sunset

Folegandros may not be one of the most famous of the islands but its sheer cliffs make for a truly stunning backdrop. Enjoy dramatic views from the top of these as you gaze down into the deep blue water below.

Santorini is the Greek picture-postcard idyll and quite rightly so, packed with the stereotypical white and blue-domed houses. The island’s volcanic history has rendered the landscape truly remarkable, with many villages clustered around the lip of the caldera – the enormous crater for which the island is famous.

Oia is the place to watch what might be the world’s most photographed sunset. You might have to share the view with other admirers, but the vistas are truly beautiful and well worth the trip.

Ios has a busy after-dark scene with plenty of bars, restaurants and clubs to enjoy. For those who prefer a more leisurely evening, head up the hill to enjoy amazing outlooks over this picturesque island as the sun sets.

The famous windmills of Chora on the island of Mykonos also make the perfect place to enjoy the evening sun as you capture some iconic Greek images.

With so many incredible locations to explore in the Cyclades, you are sure to find the ideal place to enjoy the perfect sundowner.
