Plan the perfect spring break with sailing holidays in Greece

If you don’t want to wait until the summer for your ideal getaway, don’t worry. Sailing holidays in Greece can be enjoyed from late spring, with May being one of the loveliest times to visit. There are plenty of reasons why this could be the perfect time for you to travel to this most popular part of the world.

Sailing holidays in Greece - Visit in the spring

Greece in high summer can be very hot, which is perfect if all you want to do is sunbathe; however, there are so many great archaeological sites here that you will almost certainly be doing quite a bit of walking. Visiting temples or dig sites in late spring or early summer is much more pleasurable, as you will be able to cover far more ground before the temperatures become too uncomfortable.

Unlike many destinations, the Greek tourist season is a long one. You have no need to worry that lots of facilities will not be open, even if you visit in spring or autumn. With the exception of some small local attractions, most sights in Greece can be enjoyed all year round.

This means you can visit at times that are likely to be a little quieter. Both beaches and tourist attractions can become crowded during the school summer holidays, which is why so many residents escape to the quieter islands for the duration. As the weather is still so pleasant during the non-summer months, take advantage of this to enjoy all the wonderful sights without the busy crowds.
