Stunning secluded bays with Croatia sailing holidays

By Jenny Wilson published on 4 December 2015

The best Croatia sailing holidays combine a mix of great weather, fascinating culture, fun activities and delicious food. Amid all this hustle and bustle you will also want to find some quiet spots where you can simply enjoy the tranquil surroundings of this beautiful part of the world.

The rugged and dramatic Dalmatian Coast offers the opportunity to enjoy great views and has some gorgeous tucked-away beaches, which are perfect for getting away from it all. Gradina Bay on Korcula is just a short distance from Vela Luka and is well worth a trip. The shallow seabed, the wealth of trees offering welcome shade and the lack of fellow tourists make this a lovely spot to enjoy a swim.

The Elaphiti Islands are a curious mix of busy bars popular with the yachting set and stunning quiet beaches where there is barely another soul to be found. The largest island here is Sipan, where away from the busier spots you can find plenty of peace and tranquillity. Lopud Island, also part of this archipelago, is home to the gorgeous Sunj beach, which is nestled between rocky promontories.

The island of Scedro is a protected nature park, making it the ideal place to enjoy some of Croatia’s most breathtaking natural wonders. Among all the flora and fauna you will find plenty of picturesque spots where you can unwind.

For the ultimate in restful relaxation, head to the island of Vis. As a former naval base this island has been slow to develop as a tourist hotspot, making it the perfect choice for those seeking quiet seclusion and spectacular scenery.
