The best Hydra nightlife with Greek island sailing tours

By Jenny Wilson published on 20 May 2016

The island of Hydra has long established itself as one of the most popular destinations for Greek island sailing tours, partly thanks to its thriving leisure scene. Greece has a wealth of culture to see, great beaches to enjoy and plenty to do, and the fun certainly doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.

Visiting Greece - Night time excursions

There are numerous cafes and restaurants situated just around the quayside that are perfect for people-watching and also a number of Hydra hotspots that provide a great evening out.

Amalour is located just off the harbour and is one of the island’s most loved nightspots. Playing everything from reggae and Latin to jazz and rap, there really is something for everyone to enjoy here; in addition, there is a reasonably-priced selection of drinks.

Omilos has had various incarnations throughout the years, previously trading as Lagoudera, Amoudi and the Yacht Club. Situated in an old fuel depot, this bistro bar offers great food during the day and dancing long into the night.

If you really want to let your hair down, you could opt to visit Pirate, a Hydra favourite since the 1970s. The crowd here is pretty mixed, from 30-somethings drawn by the musical variety on offer to those who have been coming here for years. The drinks list is impressive and the regular theme parties held here are great fun.

Round off your visit to Hydra with a night out at one of these harbourside favourites.
