There are few better ways to enjoy a break to Greece than chartering a yacht, giving you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and enjoy a different destination every day. If you are lucky enough to be cruising the Greek islands in the near future, try these tips to help you get the most from your break.

Sailing in Greece - Getting things right first time

The heat is on

Greece is known for its fabulous weather, but make sure you enjoy this safely. Temperatures during the peak summer months can really soar, which is why June and September are more popular with some visitors. Drink plenty of water and don’t forget the sun cream – the sea breeze makes it especially easy to forget just how strong the sun is.

Best foot forward

Whilst the evenings in Greece are the ideal time to change into glamourous outfits and visit some of the region’s upscale bars and restaurants, during the day you will definitely want to put practicality first. Many of the islands are hilly and the charming villages are full of winding cobbled streets; therefore, comfortable shoes are essential.

Be flexible

Part of the joy of this type of holiday is that you are not tied to a fixed schedule. Make the most of this by being flexible in your itinerary and visiting popular attractions at less busy times. You will escape the worst of the crowds and enjoy Greece’s spectacular sights much more.

If you consider just a few practicalities when organising your break, you will have a great time on your holiday and be assured of an adventure to remember forever.
